I got N500,000 to bathe spa worker with acid — Suspect

Recent reports from Lagos have clarified the details of the horrific acid attack on a spa worker, identifying the suspect as a 37-year-old man named Ziaulihak Zakari (also known as "Abuja").

The case has taken a disturbing turn with the suspect's confession, revealing a plot involving "lover’s rage" and a tragic case of mistaken identity.

The Confession & The Contract
Zakari was arrested for the attack on Olorunseunfunmi Awosogbon, a worker at a spa in the Lakowe area of Ibeju-Lekki.

The Payment: Zakari confessed to receiving N500,000 to carry out the attack.

Mistaken Identity: In a shocking revelation, the suspect claimed the acid was not intended for the spa worker. He stated he was hired to target the owner of the spa (his employer's ex-girlfriend) but ended up dousing the employee instead.

The Mastermind: The attack was allegedly commissioned by a man described as a "jealous ex-lover" of the spa owner.

Details of the Incident
The attack occurred when the victim, Awosogbon, responded to a home-service appointment that had been booked through the spa.

The Ambush: As she arrived for the appointment, Zakari allegedly ambushed her and bathed her in a corrosive substance.

Injuries: The victim suffered severe burns to her head, chest, and hands. She is currently receiving treatment for life-altering injuries.

Police Investigation and Arrest
The Arrest: Zakari was apprehended in the Lakowe area. During interrogation, he reportedly admitted that the initial plan was to disfigure the spa owner to "teach her a lesson" regarding her past relationship.

Ongoing Manhunt: The Lagos State Police Command is actively tracking the individual who allegedly paid Zakari the N500,000 to coordinate the hit.

The case has sparked outrage across Nigeria, with many calling for justice for the innocent worker who was caught in the crossfire of a violent domestic dispute.
